MIDDLETON Cheney are the new champions of Division 2 in the Banbury Indoor League after winning their clash of the titans against Sandford St Martin A.
Both teams were unbeaten going into the final week of the season and it was Middleton Cheney who prevailed in a thrilling last-over finish.
Sandford could manage only 96-5 from their ten overs, Chas Taylor top-scoring with 17, but Middleton Cheney still needed two sixes from Nick Wright off the first two balls of the final over to get past the target.
Nathan Hawkes top-scored with 27 not out as they reached 98-1 to win by five wickets.
Both teams were promoted to the top flight.
Byfield beat Radway by 38 runs to preserve their Division 2 status, while Tom Rothwell hit 51 for Hook Norton, but still finished on the losing side against Azad, who were relegated despite the win.
Great & Little Tew A also go down after they lost by 13 runs to Cropredy A.

Byfield 120-1, Radway 88 (10 ovs).
Hook Norton 89-2 (T Rothwell 51), Azad 90-2 (8.3 ovs).
