Eleven different players scored as Marcham Res returned to the top of North Berks League Division 4 West after an astounding 24-1 victory at bottom club Appleton Stars who played the whole match with nine men.

Pat Clark grabbed six goals while Wes Coster, Leighton Jackson and Russ Comley all netted hat-tricks.

Others came from Seb Dixon (2), Anthony Gerring (2), Ricky Trotter, Matt Wall, Mike Broomfield, Tristan Barratt and Pete Fox . Ian Bauman netted for Appleton.

With leaders Didcot Casuals not playing,Wootton & Dry Sandford and Saxton Rovers wasted the chance to go top of Division 1 after playing out a goalless draw.

Fellow title-challengers Crowmarsh Gifford drew 2-2 at home to Kintbury Rangers, with Phil Hedges and Sam Whiteley on target. Joe Lawrence and Jake Rackham replied.

Faringdon Town were held to a 1-1 draw at East Hendred, for whom Adam Sell equalised after Gary Sutton had put the visitors ahead.

Long Wittenham Athletic closed the gap on the leading teams with a 4-0 home win over Drayton, with goals from Dan Osbourne, Andy Sutherland, Zain Sharif and Adam Bailey .

Bottom club Harwell Village recorded only their second victory, winning 2-1 at home to Childrey United, thanks to goals from Gareth Fenton and Matt Aplin. Dan Cannings replied for Childrey.

In Division 2, Steventon went down 2-1 at Benson AFC Res, for whom Andy Wright scored a double. Sean Bray scored for the losers.

Shane Northcott and Matt Robinson scored for Marcham in their 2-1 home win over Lambourn Sports Res, for whom Paul Davis netted.

Blewbury dented Wantage Town A’s Division 3 title bid with a 3-1 win, thanks to an Arran Gray double and an Adam Spurrett effort. Andrew Goodchild scored for Wantage.

The bottom two teams produced a 13-goal extravaganza as Wootton & Dry Sandford Res won 9-4 at Drayton Res.

Sam Nicholls scored a hat-trick for Wootton, Chris Potter and Chris Shahab bagged a brace apiece, and Dan Bond and Tom Faulkner also netted. Alan Booth (2), Steve Barton and Sam Prior scored for Drayton.

East Hendred Res are the new leaders of Division 4 East after a 4-0 win at Blewbury Res, with Kevin Allen (2), Tyrone McGill and Ash Simmonds on target.

Steventon Res hit double figures in their 11-2 win over Hagbourne United Res to go second.

Stuart Coppock was their hat-trick hero, alongside doubles for Sean Follows and Stuart Evans, as well as goals by Lee Hutton, Alan Donnelly, Dave Neale and an own goal. Brian Kerry and Luke Chamberlain replied.
