OXFORD Harlequins head coach Tevita Vaikona said his side had panicked during their defeat by Newton Abbot.

“A couple of players are lacking experience and are not used to winning,” said Vaikona.

“We have got to be more composed.

“We were poor in the first half and lost out at the breakdown, both when we were defending and when we had the ball.

“We decided to have a go in the second half and looked better because we took the game to them.

“We scored a couple of tries and almost got another, but we panicked and threw the ball around too much.

“We need to play with that intensity from the start.”
