South West 1 East
WITNEY fell to a 19-18 at Bletchley, who snatched the points with a late try.
The visitors had led 18-14, but didn’t really deserve to win after a lacklustre display.
Fly half Pierre Dubost kicked Witney ahead with a fifth-minute penalty and added a second three-pointer after Bletchley had equalised.
Bletchley’s pressure earned them a try, while an inspired run from Witney wing Lewis Collins averted more danger.
Penalties either side of half-time made it 14-6.
Out of the blue, Dubost’s superb break created a try for James Lamb, which the former converted to close the gap to one point.
Skipper Jez Hicks grabbed a second try aided by some strange refereeing, but Bletchley won it with a pushover try after a yellow card for Witney lock Richard Haire.
