Winger George Fagg was the hero as Wood Green School, Witney, lifted rugby's Oxfordshire Under 19 Vase with a dramatic 27-22 win over d’Overbroecks College, Oxford, in the final at Oxford RFC.

Trailing 22-17 going into the last ten minutes, Wood Green levelled the scores with a try from Fagg.

With the referee signalling the last play, Fagg received a pass from a quick tap penalty to go over in the corner and give Wood Green victory.

Centre Calise Bahou, wing Tim Smale and No 8 Stuart Williams also scored tries for Wood Green, with Chris Edwards kicking a conversion.

Tom Payne scored two tries for d’Overbroecks, with Dom-inic Crisp and Sam Barton also crossing the Wood Green line. Matt Kitchen kicked one conversion.

Chipping Norton School pipped King Alfred’s Comm-unity & Sports College 18-17 in a thrilling Oxfordshire Under 15 Vase final at the same venue.

Jordan Eriksson, Alex Harris and Dan Case scored tries for Chipping Norton, with Will Foster landing a drop goal.

King Alfred’s points came from tries by Ali Rennie, Hugo Stewart and Luke Garland, with Rennie kicking a conversion.

Chipping Norton’s hopes of a double were dashed with a 32-5 defeat by Wallingford School in the Oxfordshire Under 14 Vase final on a neighoburing pitch.

Liam Bonner and Brandon Burton scored two tries apiece for Wallingford, with Sam Miller and Will Jameson also crossing the white line.

Jacob Leslie Turner scored Chipping Norton’s try.
