HEADINGTON Roadrunners provided the leading Oxfordshire finishers in the Andy Reading 10K at Chesterton, near Bicester.

Maxwell Robinson was the first Oxon man home, finishing fourth in a time of 33mins 58secs, while the race was won by Scott Hazell (Coventry Godiva Harriers) in 32.45.

Headington’s Diane Moore was the county’s top lady and fourth female home, clocking 38.37 for 53rd place overall.

The unattached Emily Setlack, whose husband Matt finished third, won the ladies’ race in 35.31, which placed her 20th overall.

Last year’s winner, Samantha Amend, had to drop out at the 2k mark.

Nigel Marley, who lives in Bicester, was seventh in 34.18, with Steve Marshall (White Horse Harriers) eighth in 34.31 and Aaron Burgess (Oxford City) ninth in 34.33.

Oxford City’s Marcus Maxwell was the first vet 40 home, finishing 11th in 34.37, with clubmate Julian Richardson taking second prize in the category with a time of 35.01.

Woodstock Harriers’ Bryan Vaughan was the second vet 50 man home in a time of 36.48, while Witney Roadrunner Rowan Brackston was the second under 20 man, crossing the line 12th in 34.41.

Roy Treadwell scooped the vet 60 honours, finishing 47th in 37.55, ahead of clubmate John Exley, who clocked 39.06.

Moore was the first vet 35 lady, while Kidlington’s Andrea Finningan was third in the category, with a gun time of 45.14.

l HOOK Norton Harriers’ multi-terrain Hooky Christmas Canter takes place on Sunday, with entries available on the day.

The seasonal race over “six country miles” starts at 11am from the Hook Norton Sports and Social Club.
