CHINNOR head coach Jason Bowers felt their victory over Newton Abbot had been a job well done.
He said: “I thought Newton Abbot were very competitive. They were very strong up front.
“Early on we allowed them to get over the gain line, but once we got organised, we got on top and killed them off with those tries before half-time.
“I was really pleased with our creativity. We created a lot of chances, but on occasions just lacked the precision to finish them off.
“Pip Seymour will get the headlines, but Nick Harrison was my man-of-the-match. He had a great game and was everywhere for us.”
Chinnor’s scrummaging was much improved in the second half and Bowers said they had simply focused better.
“At half-time, we knew we had to up our workrate a little bit, which we did.
“The players weren’t even blowing at the end, which proves how well conditioned they are.”
