Thame United battled to a 1-0 win over Wantage Town in the Uhlsport Premier League Premier Division on Saturday – despite having central defender Jon Steedman sent off early in the second half.

The visitors were reduced to ten men when Steedman pulled back Richie Claydon, and was adjudged to have been the last man by referee Craig Boyles.

But Thame dug deep and grabbed the winner in the 59th minute when the unmarked Nik Rhodes slotted home at the far post after a corner.

Wantage pressed for an equaliser, with Gavin Jones going close and Claydon hitting the underside of the bar with a shot on the turn, but the ball bounced out and Thame held on.

Chances had been even in the first half with Thame defender Matt Hall clearing off the line, while Louis Cordice squandered a good opportunity at the other end from Gareth Tucker’s mis-kicked clearance.

Ryan Brooks missed a penalty before hitting a hat-trick to give leaders Ardley United an 11th successive league win with a 3-0 triumph at Binfield.

Brooks saw his spot-kick in the eighth minute saved by Dan Wealt after Nick Thorne was brought down.

But he made amends by stabbing home a Stuart Bridges corner in the 40th minute, and then struck again in the 80th and 83rd minutes.

Oxford City Nomads exacted revenge on Fairford Town by handing out a 6-1 hiding.

Conor McDonagh, Pablo Haysham and James Dobson, whose brace included a penalty, netted two each, with Nathan Gambling converting from the spot for the visitors.

Kidlington were thrashed 7-0 at Highworth Town.

Josh Parsons (2), Ben Snook, Sean McKeon, Tony Joyce, Mark Barnes and Tyler Sheppard were the Highworth hot-shots.

Andy Younie’s double helped Witney Town ease to a 3-1 win at Holyport.

Andy Styles’s penalty gave Witney a first-minute lead after Younie was brought down.

Younie doubled Witney’s lead in the 35th minute after good work by Alfie Saunders, before completing his hat-trick in the 50th minute.

Steve Deverall’s 90th-minute strike was scant consolation for Holyport. Abingdon Town were held to a 1-1 draw at home to Slimbridge.

Corey Forbes fired home a free-kick from 20 yards to give Abingdon a fifth-minute lead, but Jamie Martin headed the equaliser in the 80th minute.

Goalkeeper Darren Booker was sent off as Old Woodstock Town went down 2-1 at leaders Tytherington Rocks in their Division 1 West top-of-the-table clash.

Liam Godin fired Woodstock ahead in the second minute, but Booker saw red in the 17th minute for bringing down a Tytherington player, and Stuart Nelson equalised from the spot.

Jason Wood grabbed Tytherington’s winner in the 61st minute.

Yannick Nkwanuo bagged a brace as Headington Amateurs won 3-1 at home to Trowbridge Town.

Paul Gittens’s header gave Trowbridge a fifth-minute lead, but Luke Cuff levelled three minutes later and Nkwanuo’s double sealed victory.

Lee Keyes grabbed a winner two minutes from time as Clanfield triumphed 2-1 at Lydney Town.

Steve Olphert’s deft chip for Clanfield after 75 minutes had been cancelled out by Jarred Liddington.

Hook Norton twice led before going down 3-2 at Malmesbury Victoria.

Mark Dennis and Rayner Da Silva netted for Hook Norton, with Ed Wilkins, Chris Andrews and Mark Field the Malmesbury scorers.

Easington Sports were blown away by a three-goal blitz in the second half in a 3-1 defeat at Purton. Shaun Lambourne gave Easington the lead, but Jonny Coole, Paul Day and Marcus Hall struck for Purton in the 67th, 73rd and 79th minutes.

Carterton drew 2-2 at Wootton Bassett Town.

Chris Mills and Jamie MacDonagh netted for Carterton, with Ethan Delaney and Matt Bown replying. In Division 1 East, Adam Stallwood hit a goal in each half to give Chinnor a 2-0 home win over Letcombe.

Milton United let a two-goal lead slip in a 3-3 draw at Hungerford Town Development.

Matt Shelton, Wayne Harbert and an own goal made up Milton’s tally, with Hungerford replying through Lee Hamilton, Tom Mahoney and Gareth Brown.

Abingdon United Res went down 4-2 to high-flying Highmoor Ibis.

Andy Fowler and Joe Parker netted for Abingdon, but Highmoor took the points through Ian Griffin (2), Aaron Baker and Devonn Reid.
