A SUPERB display from goalkeeper Adam Peck helped Premier Division strugglers Bletchingdon knock Uhlsport Hellenic League Division 1 East side Chinnor out of the Oxfordshire Senior Cup with a 2-1 second-round victory.

A surprise was on the cards when Luke Beauchamp opened the scoring in the first half after 25 minutes with an excellent finish.

Bletchingdon kept up the pressure and on the hour were rewarded for their efforts when Paul Faulkner’s curling free-kick found Johnny Richards, who headed home to double the lead.

Chinnor tried to get back into the game, but when they did break through the Bletchingdon back line, the excellent Peck thwarted them with a string of fine saves.

The keeper could do nothing when Jon Ayres pulled a goal back from the penalty spot in injury-time.

But Bletchingdon held on for a memorable win.

AFC Hinksey fought back from a goal down as they reached the next round with a 4-1 hammering of Hellenic League Division 1 West side Hook Norton.

Marlon Kabi gave Hook Norton the lead after Hinksey keeper Karl Adams misjudged a tame 30-yard shot, but Hinksey levelled when Tyrone Brackett fired home.

Hinksey took the lead when Jerome McCalmon lobbed the keeper after being put through by Toby Webster.

After the break, Marlon made it 3-1 when his shot found the bottom corner.

James turned provider when he slipped the ball through to debutant Jamie McCuig, who finished well for No 4 to seal the shock.
