Oxford City athlete Hannah England has been nominated for two prestigious awards at the second Jaguar Academy of Sport Annual Awards at The Savoy, London, on Sunday.

The 24-year-old is in the running to be the most inspirational British sportswoman of the year and for the jump off the sofa moment after winning silver in the 1,500m at the world championships.

In the former category, she faces competition from world triathlon champion Helen Jenkins, Group 1-winning jockey Hayley Turner, marathon runner Paula Radcliffe, world champion swimmer Keri-Anne Payne and taekwondo world championship silver medallist Jade Jones.

Her rivals for the jump off the sofa moment are Chris Ashton (try against Australia), Jimmy Anderson (Michael Clarke’s wicket in the Second Test in Adelaide), Dai Greene (400m hurdles gold at the world championships), Jenson Button (passing Sebastian Vettel on the last lap of the Canadian Grand Prix), Wayne Rooney (overhead kick against Manchester City).
