Alchester came on strong in the second half to defeat Slough 32-5 in Southern Counties North.

The hosts got off to a great start when wing Ieuan Robinson raced over inside two minutes for centre Tom Miles to convert.

Slough’s opening try made it 7-5 at the break, but two Miles penalties gave Alchester some breathing space.

On 55 minutes, wing Andy Blacklock won the chase to ground try No 2, Miles converting.

Two minutes later, Blacklock outpaced the defence to make it 25-5.

An interception try from centre Jack Briggs, who ran in from halfway, sealed the bonus point, Miles converting.

Fly half Dave Maryon’s late penalty gave Grove a 16-15 victory in a dreadful match at Tadley.

Harry Carr bagged Grove’s only try after a good run from skipper Ben Nicholl, but it needed Maryon’s conversion and three penalties to see off the one-dimensional hosts.

A poor second half saw Wallingford lose 36-15 at Milton Keynes.

Antony Marris opened the scoring for Wallingford with a try from fellow prop Kris Blaszko’s pass.

Fly half Ralph Smith’s penalty made it 13-8 at half-time after Milton Keynes bagged two penalties and a converted try scored following a yellow card for Wallingford wing Miguel Basson.

Two more penalties and try saw the hosts 24-8 up before Smith collected his own chip to score and convert.

Milton Keynes wrapped it up with two more tries and a conversion.
