Four new captains have driven in for their year in office at Witney Lakes.

Club captain Terry Edmunds was joined by Scot Saunders (juniors), Anna Key (ladies) and Chris Anderson (seniors) for Sunday’s ceremony.

The captains will support SSNAP (Support for the Sick Newborn And their Parents), which is based at Oxford’s John Radcliffe Hospital, and raised more than £400 on the day.

Meanwhile, Witney completed their Shaw Gibbs Oxfordshire Foursomes League Section 3 campaign with a 2½-½ victory at Feldon Valley.

This ensured Witney finished third, while Oxford City and Hadden Hill had already been confirmed as champions and runners-up respectively.

Andrew King and Neil Clayton defeated Feldon’s Will McCoombes and Richard Holmes 4&2 in match one.

Feldon’s Nik Suckling and George Paish halved with James Clark and Dave Thompson.

Witney’s Steve Putt and James Bason sealed victory with a one-hole success over Alex Bailey and Mike Abbotts.
