ANTHONY Martin scored twice as Vale of White Horse Schools made hard work of beating Swindon 4-2 in the ESFA Under 15 Trophy third round at Milton United.
Robbie Cundy nodded home Owen Shaw’s corner after four minutes, and when Martin headed in No 2 Vale looked set for an easy victory.
But a low cross hit Luke Thorne and deflected into his own net, before Milad Behsodi equalised for Swindon early in the second half.
Martin restored Vale’s lead with a chip over the advancing keeper, and Sam Barder’s last-minute header clinched it.
Oxford City take on Coventry in their third-round tie at Cheney School on Saturday (10.30).
- JACOB Hughes’s brace capped an outstanding display by Oxfordshire Under 16s in their 3-0 win over Hampshire in the South West Counties Cup at Milton United.
Despite dominating possession, it wasn’t until just before half-time that Oxon opened the scoring. James Clarke netted from close range following a breakaway.
Hughes doubled Oxon’s lead with a 25-yard drive in the second half, before racing clear to slide home No 3.
