VIKINGS A have dropped their first games of the season.

However, their 8-2 victory over Rutherford in Division 1 of the Oxford & District League still sees them lead the way at the top of the table.

Rutherford’s Glen Freeman upset Alan Cherry, but Jingyu Sun and Pavel Jaskolski both maintained their 100 per cent records as Vikings recorded another victory.

Andy Misseldine and Mark Scott kept Holton A’s challenge going with maximums against Vikings B, but the absence of Elson Costa meant they could only win 7-3 and so lost further ground to the leaders.

Vikings B, however, picked up their first win of the season, thumping Forum C 10-0.

In Division 2, Vikings D further extended their lead by comprehensively beating Forum E 10-0.

Another Paul Borrowdale maximum allowed Vikings E to beat Forum D 6-4.

Forum’s Sam Harrison threatened an upset when he beat Eamonn Deeley, but Vikings stuck to the task.

Forum F are still flying high in Division 3 after an 8-2 win over Gladiators B, with three victories each for Simon Price and Jonah Stott.

Two-man Forum I managed a close 6-4 victory over club-mates Forum G.
