Oxford City boss Mike Ford has banned all mention of next weekend’s FA Cup trip to Redbridge as his side look to bounce back in the Evo-Stik Southern League at home to St Albans City on Saturday.

While delighted with the 3-1 fourth-qualifying round win, Ford now wants to focus on getting back to winning ways in the Premier Division, having lost 1-0 at Weymouth in their last league game.

“It’s a really important week for us” said Ford, whose side also host Arlesley on Tuesday.

“We have got the players focused because we haven’t played a league game for a while and I don’t want us to waste our fantastic start.

“On Saturday there are only two games in our league and if we do it properly, we add three points to our total.

“We are not even mentioning that game (in the FA Cup) and no one is talking about it – we are just focused on St Albans and nothing else.”

City’s only absentee is Declan Benjamin, who serves a one-match ban.

North Leigh manager Mark Gee says they face their toughest test at home to Division 1 South & West leaders Hungerford.

Last weekend, North Leigh slipped to a 3-1 defeat at Poole, and Gee says his side need to improve their finishing.

“We were in charge for 35 minutes – we got a goal, but then missed several chances.”

He added: “Hungerford are the best side in the league and it will be a good gauge of where we are.”

Adam Lonsdale comes in for injured keeper Sam Warrell (hamstring) while Kieran Sanders is suspended.

Abingdon United boss Richie Bourne has told his full-strength side to keep up the hard work away at Sholing.

Although they lost 1-0 to Oxford City in the Red Insure Cup in midweek, Bourne said: “We played really well. They had one chance and scored a worldy. Sam Collier had a massive chance to equalise, but fired over.

“If we keep up that level of performance we can climb away from the relegation zone.”
