BANBURY Under 11s won the Northampton Saints Festival for the third year running, although this time they had to share the Land Rover Cup.

Their final against Northants champions Long Buckby finished 0-0 after Banbury twice had tries disallowed.

Banbury had earlier come through a group comprising Northampton Old Scouts, Effingham & Leatherhead and Bletchley before defeating Bury St Edmunds in their semi-final.

Meanwhile, Banbury Under 14s experienced mixed fortunes against visitors Ledbury.

Daniel Morris (3), Aaron Taylor (2), William Hopkins, captain Jake Anderson, Jack Briggs, Caleb Shepherd and Alexander Bruce crossed the line in their A team’s 54-0 win, Briggs converting two.

However, Josh Hughes’s try double, both converted by Sam Manning, could not prevent Ledbury winning the B team clash 27-14.

Dan Brady’s try treble helped Banbury Under 13s win 26-14 at Chinnor.

Callum O’Shea also scored for Banbury, with Mika Catania kicking three conversions.

Tries from Oliver Morgan and Jamie Wood, plus two Morgan conversions, fired Banbury Under 12s to a 14-0 victory over Droitwich.

Banbury Under 10s won 20-15 and 15-0 at Droitwich, with Oscar Raisbeck (3), Luke Swann (2), Harry Turburfield and Ollie Davis scoring.

Try doubles from Giano Winkler, Harvey Machin and Bailin Mazoue helped Banbury Under 9s defeat Droitwich 40-15 in match one, Korben Haden and Toby Levene completing their tally.

William Hamer grabbed Banbury’s sole score as they lost 15-5 to Droitwich in match two.

Banbury Under 7s were also victorious against Droitwich, Cian Gerber (2), Archie Raisebeck, Joshua Perry and Leon Atherton scoring their tries in a 25-10 success.
