Oxfordshire's Bradley Smith has been given the all-clear to ride in the final round of the Moto2 World Championship in Valencia on Sunday.

The 20-year-old, from Forest Hill, near Oxford, suffered a cracked left collar-bone and bruised lung when he crashed the Tech3 machine on the wet track in the first lap of practice for the previous round in Sepang, Malaysia, 11 days ago.

He missed that race, but despite some pain and discomfort will ride in the Generali Grand Prix of the Comunitat of Valencia where he won the 125cc race last year.

Smith said: “I’ve got the OK to ride, but I will have to man up when I get to Valencia because there is going to be plenty of pain and discomfort.

“We will strap up the collar-bone for maximum comfort and mobility.

“I won the 125cc race there last year, and I’m so pleased I can ride because I’ve been really motivated to get back out there and race ever since the crash in Malaysia.”
