Oxford City boss Mike Ford called it a “a good draw” after learning that his side would travel to face Redbridge, from Ryman League Division 1 North, in the first round of the FA Cup on Saturday, November 12.

“At this stage, we were ideally, looking at a money spinner,”said Ford. “But the next best thing is to get a side that are beatable.

“We’ve got a great opportunity to reach the second round and get another big payday.” So far, City have earned £23,000 from their cup run, with another £25,000 on offer for reaching bthe second round.

“We’re not taking Redbridge lightly,” said Ford. “They’ve beaten some good sides to get this far.” Redbridge, formerly known as Ford United, beat Blue Square Bet Premier Ebbsfleet to reach this stage.
