Michael Hopkins was sent off as North Leigh were sunk by Poole Town in their Evo-Stik Southern League Division 1 South & West clash.

Hopkins saw red in the 89th minute when, as the last defender, he brought down a Poole striker.

North Leigh had opened the scoring after ten minutes through a Stuart Hole penalty after Morgan Williams was fouled.

Poole equalised in the 38th minute when Dan Cann swivelled before despatching a crisp shot.

And a minute later North Leigh fell behind as Carl Preston smashed in a right-foot shot from the edge of the box.

Scott Joyce blasted home Poole’s third goal from distance in a spell early in the second half which also saw the hosts twice hit the North Leigh woodwork.
