Swindon Supermarine 1

(Stanley 23)

Banbury United extended their unbeaten run to five games with a draw against Swindon Supermarine in an Evo-Stik Southern League Premier Division clash which saw both sides miss numerous chances.

The hosts made a flying start when Will Green drilled home a penalty in the third minute for his ninth goal of the season after he had been brought down by Matt Robinson.

But Swindon equalised in the 23rd minute when Nick Stanley rifled home a 22-yard shot.

Danny Edmond and Josh Cole were foilied by good saves by Supermarine keeper Kent Kauppinen before the break.

Sam Morris scooped the ball over the Banbury bar early in the second half, while Green was denied by Kauppinen.

Ryan Howell ballooned a diving header over the Swindon bar in injury time when Green also had a strong penalty appeal waved away.
