Time For Rupert could run next in the Betfair Chase at Haydock after he finished second to Weird Al in the bet365 Charlie Hall Chase at Wetherby on Saturday.
Paul Webber, who trains at Mollington, near Banbury, reported that his star had come out of the race in good shape.
“I couldn't be more pleased with him,” he said. “He’s fresh and bouncy, he trotted up the yard well and has been in his paddock.
“He’ll go for the Betfair, I would think, rather than carry a lot of weight in the Hennessy.”
That would set Time For Rupert on a collision course with Gold Cup hero Long Run and Kauto Star, who are set to return in the Haydock contest on November 19.
Meanwhile, Webber enjoyed success at Wetherby with Alasi in the Listed bet365 Mares’ Hurdle.
