Oxford Health & Racquets opened their account for the season in the Premier Squash League with a 4-1 home win over Courtcraft Pontefract.
After losing their opening Group A tie 4-1 to Derbyshire club Benz-Bavarian Duffield, Oxford bounced back in style.
Australian No 1 Cameron Pilley starred for Oxford with a 13-11, 11-5, 11-4 victory over Pontefract stalwart Lee Beachill, a former world No 1 and three-time British champion.
Scott Handley found former world No 4 and British champion Simon Parke too strong, going down 11-5, 11-5, 11-9.
But Ben Coleman came out on top 10-12, 11-9, 11-7, 8-11, 11-5 in a titanic tussle against Neil Cordell, while Andrew Birks defeated Sam Wileman 12-10, 11-6, 7-11, 11-5.
Madeline Perry was Oxford’s fourth winner with an 11-4, 11-4, 11-5 victory over Kirsty McPhee.
Oxford team manager Ross Gore said: “It was nice to get a good first home win under our belt.
“We’re looking forward to hopefully making a push up the table before the Christmas break.”
