Didcot Town’s new manager Dave Mudge says his first priority is to get some more points – starting with Saturday's Evo-Stik Southern League Division 1 South & West trip to Mangotsfield.

Mudge (pictured) replaced Francis Vines and had no hesitation taking the job.

“I have always got on well with the people at Didcot and they are one of the best run non-league clubs in football, so I jumped at the chance,” said the ex-Windsor boss.

“It’s a big build, but a few wins will put us mid-table.

“There will be changes (in the playing staff), but I want to give the players that are here the opportunity to show they want to play for Didcot.

“I’m delighted to get the job and hopefully we can turn it around.”

Mudge added: “I am very strict on time-keeping.

“When I took training on Tuesday I was astonished some didn’t turn up. They will miss the next two games.”

Mudge added: “Maybe they need some fresh ideas and, looking at the fitness levels, I think some players need re-energising.

“The football in the next few games won’t be pretty, but we need some points on the board.”

North Leigh could give new signing Morgan Williams his bow at home to Bridgwater.

Boss Mark Gee said: “He gives us pace and more options up front.”

Toby Clark (Achilles), Joe Burnell and Ben Willoughby (both unavailable) miss out.
