Bicester's Paul Hooley scaled the heights to triumph in the Oxfordshire Champion of Champions competition at Oxford City & County.

Hooley came out on top of 22 club champions in the two-day event.

After battling through four rounds to reach the final, he lifted the trophy with a 21-18 win over Kidlington’s John Hardie.

Hooley raced into a 7-0 lead after four ends, but Hardie pegged him back to trail 12-11 after 15 ends, before moving 18-17 ahead.

However, the Bicester man kept his nerve to pick up single shots over the next two ends and then a two to clinch victory.
