Oxford United 1 (McLaren 35), Accrington Stanley 1 (Murphy 62) Oxford United let slip the lead for the fourth time in five home matches as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Accrington Stanley at the Kassam Stadium.

And although they remain unbeaten at home, only one win means that their Kassam Stadium form remains a wory.

United took the lead in fortunate circumstances on 35 minutes.

A free-kick some 30 yards out was hit by Paul McLaren, and a huge deflection wrong-footed Accrington keeper Sean Murdoch and found the net.

Peter Murphy equalised on 62 minutes when his right-foot effort found the bottom corner of Ryan Clarke's net.

Before then, Clarke had made three first-class saves to keep the U's in the game.

The United keeper denied Wes Fletcher once and Kevin Long twice with super stops.

He was also helped out by a post when, in the seventh minute, a free-kick from Sean Hessey was met by the unmarked Dean Winnard, whose header beat Clarke, hit the inside of a post and rolled along the line.

Fletcher then turned the ball in, but was flagged offside.

Oxford pushed forward, desperately searching for a winner, but Potter and Josh Payne saw efforts saved, and Michael Duberry's header grazed the bar in the final minute.
