Kidlington boss Paul Lee has spoken of his joy at signing former Wycombe striker Jermaine McSporran.

McSporran, 29, who joined the Hellenic League side on Friday, made a immediate impact, scoring the winner as they beat Chipping Norton Town 3-2 in the Premier Division.

He left League Two side Chester City by mutual consent in the summer.

And tonight, McSporran is set to make his home debut when they host Abingdon Town.

Coincidentally, it was Lee who gave McSporran his first chance in football when he was Town boss.

Lee then took him to Oxford City. McSporran was later sold to Wycombe for a reported six-figure sum.

He then had a spell at Doncaster Rovers before joining Chester.

"I have always kept in contact with Jermaine since he left City and I asked him if he wanted to play a few games for us," said Lee.

"I was very pleased Jermaine joined us. Although he hadn't played for four weeks, he was a different class on Saturday. He still has frightening pace.

"He decided to sign on Friday. We had to contact the FA to get clearance and said it was fine as he was a free agent.

"I know Crawley and Stevenage are interested in signing him.

"We realise he is not going to stay here. He's just come in to help us out for a couple of games."
