ALFIE Potter says there is even more to come from both Oxford United and himself.

The U’s have recorded back-to-back away wins and victory over Accrington Stanley tomorrow will ensure United cement their place in the top seven.

And for Potter (pictured above), who has produced some sparkling performances on the wing in the last month, things are going well.

“I’m confident at the moment and confidence is a massive thing with all footballers,” he said.

“The gaffer has always shown confidence in me and it’s just about getting a run of games under your belt.

“I feel I’m doing well, getting better and better each week and am hopeful there is even more to come for me and the team.”

Andy Haworth was last week signed on loan to provide competition on the right, and Potter says that new faces always give players a nudge.

“You have to deliver all the time,” he said.

“You always have to push because before Andy there was something else challenging me.

“The competition in the squad is massive and with the new loan players coming in you have to produce or you’ll be out the team.”

Boss Chris Wilder believes the Burton game, where United were 2-0 up but drew 2-2 could be a key turning point.

“We could have gone one way or the other after the draw with Burton,” he said.

“But full credit to the players who have gone out there and produced two great away results, both of which I feel were fully deserved.

“We now have to make sure that we turn our good performances at home into results.

“In a lot of the last four home games we have been very dominant, but the two ends of the pitch are the most important.

“We have done it at Dagenham and Barnet and we need to do it at home against Accrington on Saturday.”
