WALLINGFORD continued their impressive start with a 45-21 home victory over Gosford All Blacks in the BB&O Premier.

Gosford gained some respectability thanks to two late tries, but they have work to do if they are to challenge for promotion.

Wallingford welcomed back fly half and captain Olli Henderson and his fine all-round kicking game kept them on the front foot.

Lock Kris Blaszko blasted his way through after seven minutes and Henderson converted.

The skipper himself breezed through for try No 2, converting this and a third from centre Don Jenkins - all inside 13 minutes.

Wallingford full back Johnny Collett snatched another try on the half-hour.

Gosford gave themselves hope when scrum half Tim Sutton won the ball and crossed over, winger James Barrett converting.

After 20 minutes of second-half deadlock, Wallingford prop Rae Young wrestled the ball and dived over for a try that Henderson converted.

Fellow prop Ed Jenkins fed winger Gavin Hull for the next score, which Henderson converted, before Collett bagged his second try.

Gosford finished strongly as flanker Graham Weir and Barrett both crossed over, Barrett converting both.

Oxford suffered a setback when they lost 52-6 at Stow-on-the-Wold.

Stow, coached by former England International Mike Rafter, caused Oxford big problems up front.

After a promising start Oxford were 18-0 down at half time.

The relentless pressure continued and Oxford, sometimes guilty of indiscipline and still dropping vital passes, were often left clutching at straws.

Oxford came back near the end and Duncan Lynchsmith, himself a former Stow player, kicked two penalties.
