OXFORD City’s men finished fourth in the Southern Counties League final at Ashford, missing out on third by just three points.

In the vet 35 category, Henry Chitsenga clocked 12.7 secs to win the A string 100m and was second in the 200m (25.7).

Graham Chapman won the vet 35 2km walk in 10 mins 12.1 secs, while Gareth Davies recorded a leap of 5.82m to win the long jump.

In the vet 50 men’s 1500m, Brian Green cruised to victory in 4.41.2, and doubled up to clinch first place in the 3,000m, clocking 10.09.8.

Bruce Hendrie won the vet 60 long jump with a leap of 4.23m, while Dave Kuester threw 9.78 for victory in the shot.

Kuester also recorded victory in the hammer with a throw of 30.85m.

l RADLEY’S veteran ladies finished a creditable fifth in their final.

Jackie Breslin was third in the pole vault in a personal best of 1.90m, as well as competing in the 100m, 200m, high jump, triple jump and the 4x100 and 4x400 relays.

Jacqui Cherry had a second place in the discus.

Michelle Hazell won the over 35 long jump with 4.60m, while Gwyneth Hueter took the over 50 800m in 2mins 55.3secs.

Lyn Ahmet also had a busy day for the over 50s, competing in the 100m, 200m, shot putt, long jump, triple and the hammer in which she threw a pb of 17.98m.

In the over 60s, Gill Woodland had a pb of 2.60m in the long jump.

Sarah Davies had two second places in the 800m, 3,000m and a fourth in the 1,500m.
