HOLYCROSS Ace can make his good finishing speed count in the second top-grade event of the evening and land the nap at Oxford Stadium tonight.

Badly crowded at the second bend last time out, the Richard Baker-trained dog can catch possible early leader Carib-bean Bill on the run in.

  • SPENCERS Lad again proved the star of the nightwhen the Angie Kibble-trained brindle gave his rivals little chance in landing the Our Good Friends from Denmark open race trophy.

The Trafalgar Cup victor hit the traps like a rocket and even early pace specialist Carribean Bill was caught in the crowding from the boxes as Spencers made the most of his way home, beating the Tony Magnasco-trained Pats Cash for the second time running.

The impressive Bright Mac, owned by Pauline Clay and trained by Nick Colton, made it three wins from four starts, including two open races, when landing the Norsk Kraft Gold Race over 250 metres.

And just to cap a great night for the locals, Angie Kibble’s Uncle Des ran a cracker to hold off the highly-rated stayer Wise Totty in the Stadium Bookmakers 595.
