Striker Deane Smalley says that he will not let his lack of goals affect him.
The striker, who joined from Oldham in the summer, is yet to score for Oxford this season.
But while obviously conscience he is yet to find the net, Smalley says that he will keep focused on the job in hand.
“I would obviously have liked to have scored by now,” he said.
“It is there at the back of your mind, but if you let things like that start to affect you, it will have an impact on your general game.
“It’s important for me not to do that, to keep trying to get into the positions, and keep my head down.”
The striker added: “Training this week has been really, really good.
“We know we should have beaten Aldershot last week with them down to ten men, but you can’t let something like that keep you down.
“The lads are all positive and hopefully we can go to Crewe and get the three points.”
