Didcot Town boss Francis Vines has labelled his side’s show against Thatcham a “disgrace” and demanded a much-improved display away to Abingdon Town in the FA Cup preliminary round on Saturday.

The Railwaymen crashed 3-0 to the Berkshire visitors on Saturday, stretching Town’s winless run to five matches.

“It was very disappointing indeed. Take nothing away from Thatcham, but we were a disgrace,” said Vines.

“There were some poor performances last week and we need to start shaping up a bit.

“I know the Abingdon pitch isn’t the best, but we can’t use that as an excuse.”

Abingdon are without Dan Warne and Corey Forbes, but Anaclet Odhiambo returns.

The winners travel to Oxford City.

Abingdon United boss Richie Bourne says he is relishing a return to former club Wantage Town.

Bourne said: “I’m not nervous about going back. I’m looking forward to seeing the old boys again and the chairman.

“I’m know I’m on a hiding to nothing. We’re expected to win and, if we don’t, I will get stick.

“But I’m desperate to get through a round or two.”

Abingdon are without Shaun Wimble and Ben McReady (both banned), while Wantage’s Tom Eatwell is a doubt.

The victors are away to Leighton Town or Uxbridge.
