Beaver Patrol, a stalwart of Eve Johnson Houghton’s Blewbury stables, near Didcot, has been retired.
The nine-year-old chestnut gelding won nine of his 79 starts, accumulating £345,474 in prize money.
His victories included sprint handicaps at Newmarket on 2000 Guineas day and at Epsom on Derby day, a valuable sales race at the Curragh and a conditions race at Nad Al Sheba in Dubai.
Johnson Houghton said: “He gave untold pleasure to all of us at Woodway and will be much missed when he goes to his retirement home.”
