OXONIAN riders captured the 25-mile Leiden Plaque Handicap Time trial on the Cumnor course.
The 60-year-old trophy is to commemerate the annual exchange visit and is fought out between Oxonian CC, Oxford City rc and Banbury Star CC, the best team of four on handicap winning.
City were unable to get a team together, so Oxonians and Banbury Star riders fought it out and all four Oxonians recorded personal bests for the course.
They triumphed by 27 seconds with a team time of 3hrs 35mins 5secs.
Fastest Oxonians: 1 G Tillson 51.23, 2 A Tomalin 53.39, 3 D McSweeney 55.43, 4 K Whorton 56.20.
Banbury Star: 1 D Anson 50.56, 2 J Belcher 54.11, 3 R Foster 54.57, 4 S Patiance 55.28.
