IT could be a real double header for Shipton-under-Wychwood, who face the prospect of two finals on the same day – in the Bernard Tollett Oxfordshire Cup and the District Cup.
Shipton were handed a walkover by Tiddington in the District Cup semi-finals on Sunday – the new competition for Oxfordshire Cup area winners.
Shipton are also in the last four of the Oxfordshire Cup where they entertain Great & Little Tew on Sunday (1pm).
Victory there would give them a place in the final against either Aston Rowant or holders Banbury, who meet on Bank Holiday Monday, August 29 (2pm) at Butts Way.
The same situation could apply to Shipton’s Oxfordshire Cup opponents, Great & Little Tew, who host Cropredy in the District Cup semi-final tomorrow (5.30pm).
The two finals are to take place at Great Tew on Sunday, September 4.
And organiser Chris Bishop confirmed that if one club was in both finals, they wouldn’t be moved, with the District Cup final at 10.30am followed by the Oxfordshire Cup final at 2.30pm.
