Asa Hall is aiming for a repeat show when Oxford United host his old club, Shrewsbury Town, in npower League Two at the Kassam Stadium tonight.

Last season, the midfielder, netted his first U’s goal against the Shrews in a 3-1 win on January 25.

And he says nothing would delight him more than to score against his former side again as United look for their first victory of the season.

Hall, who played 15 games for the Shropshire side in the 2007-8 campaign, scoring three times, said he was desperate to get off the mark, having headed against the woodwork in both the 1-0 loss at Rotherham and the Carling Cup defeat against Cardiff.

“I did enjoy being at Shrewsbury, but it was a while ago,” said Hall, who scored four goals last term.

“But it would be nice to get another goal against them.

“There’s no panic here, but we want to be winning – it makes everything so much better around the place.”

Following the 1-1 draw with Bradford, U’s boss Chris Wilder has urged his side to be patient as they look to break their duck against Graham Turner’s side.

“We have to be patient, both on the field and off it, and I think the supporters appreciate that,” he said.

Wilder said Shrewsbury, who are yet to win, having scrambled a late 1-1 draw at Burton on Saturday, would be a tough proposition.

He added: “They are a good side that will be there or thereabouts at the end of the season. They were play-off finalists a couple of years ago.”

At the back, Andrew Whing and Damian Batt are vying for the right-back slot, while James Constable is bidding for a starting berth after a sub’s role against Bradford.

For Shrewsbury, Joe Jacobson could replace Shane Cansdell-Sherriff at left back, while Terry Gornell, who scored their equaliser against Burton on Saturday, could start.
