HORSPATH 2nd closed in on promotion by beating closest rivals Tiddington 2nd.

Jon Talbot hit 53 and Ian Pykett 34 in Tiddington’s 199-9, Ben Henderson taking 3-33.

Talbot then claimed 3-44, but Chris Jones (58), Jack Biggs (46) and Stephen Green (39) led Horspath to 200-6.

Julian Hitchman took 5-45 as Didcot bowled leaders Cublington out for only 136.

Henry Brisland then hit 30 in Didcot’s reply, but Howard Sayers (5-26) and Greg Jenkins (3-36) dismissed them for 126.

Banbury 3rd amassed 303-2 dec against local rivals Banbury Twenty 2nd, who inserted them, Charlie Hill (127) and Alistair Jarvis (96) running riot.

Twenty were dismissed for 162 with overs running out.

Thame Town 2nd struggled to get going on a wet pitch at home to Challow & Childrey 2nd, but Stephen Beard’s 43 and Robbie Jackson’s 38 helped them to 168. Rory Moore took 4-41.

As conditions improved, Nigel Hill took advantage making 66 not out, and with the support of Pat Bryant (53) Challow reached 172-3.

Brackley’s eighth draw came at Cropredy 2nd.

Michael Lowe top-scored with 42 in the visitors’ 225 all out, Jordan Glazier (5-90) toiled away for 27 overs.

Ralph Orchard (46), Jamie Jennings (40) and Altaf Hussain (40) earned their side a draw on 156-8.
