Carterton, stunned by manager Mark Jacobsen quitting on the eve of the season, were thrashed 7-0 at Tytherington Rocks in Uhlsport Hellenic League Division 1 West.
Jacobsen stepped down on Friday, and 24 hours later his side caved in with four goals coming in the last five minutes.
Luke Cuff bagged a brace as defending champions Headington Amateurs ran out 4-3 winners at promoted Brimscombe & Thrupp.
Aaron Williams and a Shaun Jacobs penalty completed Headington’s tally, with Martin McDermott, Gary Probert and Michael Beckenham replying for the Stroud-based outfit.
Junior Howard hit a double in Easington Sports’ 4-2 win at Cricklade Town.
Nick Brindley and Josh Baden also netted for Easington, with Aaron Webb and Ryan Thomas the Cricklade marksmen.
Alan Robertson bagged a brace in Old Woodstock Town’s 3-0 home win over Winterbourne United.
Murray Nichols was also on target.
Steve Olphert grabbed a late winner for Clanfield in a 2-1 victory at New College Swindon – before being controversially sent off in stoppage time.
Kevin Lewis’s opener for the visitors had earlier been cancelled out by Brad Stanners.
In Division 1 East, Paul Leslie’s four-timer in the first half sent Letcombe spinning to a 4-0 defeat at home to Rayners Lane.
Substitute Sam Thomas’s 50th-minute strike gave Milton United a 1-0 home win over Maidenhead United Res.
Stuart Braun’s equaliser gave Chinnor a 1-1 draw at Chalfont Wasps, who scored through Barry Brosnan.
Didcot Town Res went down 2-0 at home to Woodley Town, with an own goal and a Brett Rann strike doing the damage.
