Zach McEachran marked his Kidlington debut with a superb goal in a 2-0 home win over Reading Town in the Uhlsport Hellenic League Premier Division.

The 16-year-old, younger brother of Chelsea star Josh, smashed the ball home from 25 yards in the 56th minute.

Ryan Curtin had put Kidlington ahead in the 20th minute by lobbing the keeper.

Substitute Niall Hodgkins grabbed a 70th-minute winner as reigning champions Wantage Town won 2-1 at home to promoted Holyport.

Tom Molton had opened the scoring for Wantage with a terrific strike from 25 yards, before Holyport’s Dan Bailey was sent off after challenging Tom Rowe with a raised elbow.

Stuart Butler curled home a free-kick for Holyport’s equaliser in the 42nd minute.

Oxford City Nomads fired a four-goal salvo in the first half to win 4-2 at promoted Cheltenham Saracens.

Pablo Haysham, Kynan Isaac, Keith McLoughlin and a James Dobson penalty made up Nomads’ tally, with Joe Bermingham and Tom Russell replying.

Andy Younie scored twice in Witney Town’s 3-0 home win over Bracknell Town. His second-half double was sandwiched around a John Rixon goal.

Thame United slid to a 3-1 defeat at home to Highworth Town.

Dan West gave Thame a sixth-minute lead, but Highworth hit back through Tony Joyce and a Dan Hilder brace.

Abingdon Town went down 2-0 at home to Ascot United.

Liam Woozley followed up to score after Jon Beames had saved a penalty for Ascot’s opener in the 70th minute.

And Jon Bennett sealed Abingdon’s fate by netting a breakaway goal in the last minute.

Henley Town lost to an own goal in their first match back in the Premier Division in a 1-0 home defeat by Shrivenham.
