Lady Taverners regional finals
Freeland’s girls stormed to victory in the under 15 competition at Eversley CC, Hampshire.
Rain meant the tournament was played indoors, but Freeland defeated Bristol Phoenix, Eversley and Tarka (Devon) to win their group.
In the final, Abi Flory and Suzy Halsey led Freeland to 52-3 against Parley (Dorset) , who were restricted to 37-3 Freeland now go on to the national finals at Ellesmere, Shropshire on August 24.
Banbury finished runners-up in the under 13 event, defeating Buckingham, St. Just (Cornwall) and Bridgwater (Somerset) in their group.
Emily Ong hit 20 not out three times in the tournament, but Finchampstead (Berkshire) eased past Banbury in the final.
Next week, Shipton-under-Wychwood travel to Chard, Somerset for the under 11 finals.
