Oxford are to advertise for a new trainer following the drop in the racing strength at Cowley.
The management have been restricted to ten-race cards over the last month when one trainer short, following Ian Wills’s departure a few weeks ago, and are keen to get back to a full race programme.
John Peterson, son of former trainer John Peterson Snr and brother of champion trainer Michael, looked to be the odds-on favourite to land the post, but has opted to join Swindon.
Oxford have plenty of willing trainers on file, but have decided to advertise.
l TRACK man Jimmy Hulbert came to the rescue of another BAGS race on Sunday when Ballybeg Dawn had a back spasm and stopped racing.
Jim swiftly removed Dawn from the track and saved the day.
l TRAFALGAR Cup and Oaks winner Freedom Emma is taking a lot longer than most to get over her seasonal rest – something that has baffled trainer Richard Yeates.
Hopefully, the treatment from the vet will sort her out and she can get back to doing what she does best – winning races.
