Richworth Linear’s Manor Farm Lake at Stanton Harcourt and Linch Hill’s Willow Pool at nearby Standlake are both on song.
Manor Lake produced a 39.12.0 mirror carp for Crewe visitor Scott Lloyd, who targeted a silt area instead of the clear gravel bars around 70 yards out from the bank.
He baited up with CC Moore Odyssey XXX boilies and Tigers in Talin and then presented his boilie hookbait over the top on rigs tied with Nash Missing Link hooklinks and size 6 Korda wide gap hooks.
Cornwall-based Fox consultant John Kneebone spent an afternoon fishing floaters at Willow Pool, using cut-down Mainstream Baits New Grange pop-ups to look like his Chum Mixer freebies.
He was rewarded with a 33.1.0 carp known as ‘The Leather’, plus another four fish, the best going 28.8.0.
He then moved on to Christchurch Lake for the night and in the early hours netted a 33.0.0 mirror.
