Oxford's Hannah England eased into the 1500 metres final at the Aviva UK Trials and Championship at Birmingham when she finished second in her heat in 4:21.88 behind Stevie Stockton.
With four to qualify for the final, England kept out of trouble and was never out of the top three in a slow race. She looked very > comfortable and in control throughout.
England said afterwards, "I am always nervous about heats so it is nice to get it out of the way. When it is about qualifying I like to get in position and then just hold your own. Time does not matter. It isalways nice to run in Birmingham [her adopted home]".
Hannah who set a personal best of 4:01.89 in Barcelona last week, needs to finish in the first two to guarantee selection for the World Championships in Daegu, Korea at the end of August.
