THE Michael Peterson-trained Tictac Gold, winner of the a £500 sprint on Pall Mall final night, proved he was among the country’s top sprinters when finishing second to the champion sprinter Jimmy Lollie.

Lollie, greyhound of the year in 2010, was winning his 68th race in the Coral Sprint at Hove on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Peterson has taken in three hounds from Tony Magnasco to run at Hall Green, one of which, Barrack Jo, has already won.

  • THERE was some consolation for trainer Richard Baker after he hand-slipped three puppies at Monday’s trail session and all three chased well.

Killerney Twist, their mother, died during a caesarean operation when she was found to be in whelp with 12 pups. Sadly only six survived .

  • WITH the racing strength at an all-time low and competition reduced to ten races on Thursday and Saturday, a new trainer is obviously needed.

Chris Stringer has come in recently, but there are no runners coming from the Ian Wills kennel. Watch this space.

  • ANGIE Kibble, who has a kennel strength of 44 available for grading, shone on Sunday with a 220-1 four-timer.

They have introductory trials on Monday and since last year’s incident, he has now fitted state-of-the-art security.

  • THE Nick Colton-trained Jolly Poacher kept up his superb record at Cowley with his 11th win in 13 attempts.

Poacher, who finished second in the other two, and the Angie Kibble-trained Spencers Lad dominated the Emma and Simon Wedding Stakes open race to leave their rivals in the shade on Thursday.

  • NICK Colton is the leading Oxford representative in the national greyhound trainers’ championship.

The latest victories of Taranis Rex and Johnnys Way took his prize money to £10,960 and tenth in the table.

Richard Yeates has won £3,800, Johnny Mayo £1,350, Angie Kibble £1,300 and Michael Peterson £650.
