Horspath Hammers got back on the winning track in the British Premier League with an impressive 90-84 victory over Sheffield Stars.

Opening with a come-from-behind 7-3 maximum via Paul Heard and Steve Harris, Horspath increased their lead to 13 points by the interval.

But two poor runs and exclusions to Chris and Lewis Osborne saw the difference down to three by heat 13.

Despite another exclusion for Matty Szymczak in the 15th heat, Horspath rallied to close it out and stay top of the table.

  • HAMMERS secured an 82-74 win over Sheffield in the Premier Combination, overcoming 26 penalty points for using Mark Boaler and Mark Carmichael.

Carmichael sped away from East Newport’s Ben Mould and Hammers’ secondary rider Paul Heard to take the title.

  • LIVVI Horsley, of Horspath, came second in the Women’s League Under 15 Grand Prix at Ipswich to top the table.
