Oxfordshire Under 10s had mixed fortunes with a defeat against Dorset, followed up with a comprehensive win against Shropshire.

In their clash with Dorset at Moulsford School, Oxon opted to bat first and posted 157 all out in 38 overs.

Opener Oliver Price top-scored with 29, while there were useful contributions down the order from Harry Statin (23), Louis Needham (18) and Ben Parker (16).

Dorset’s reply was led by Scott Currie (45no) and Om Ramchanani (40).

They reached 158-4 for a six-wicket victory with a victim apiece for Statin, Parker, Alex Chapman and Dominic Whinfrey.

Oxon bounced back in style with a superb 121-run win over Shropshire at Fringford.

Maiden county half-centuries from Oliver Price and Toby Parker led Oxon to a highly impressive 198-2 from their 40 overs.

The duo shared an excellent unbroken stand of 144 for the third wicket.

Dorset’s stiff run-chase at five per over became an even tougher task as George Williams reduced them to 7-2.

Williams finished with 3-10, while Toby Parker’s twin brother, Ben, took 3-5 from four overs.

With Chapman also returning figures of 3-8, Shropshire were bowled out in the 28th over for 77.
