Bicester & North Oxford’s dream of an Oxfordshire Under 13 league and cup double were left in a spin as they lost to Oxford Downs in the cup final.
Put into bat, Bicester soon found themselves reeling as Downs’ slow bowlers blew away their top order.
Leg-spinner Harry Anderson was the chief tormentor, finishing with four wickets, while fellow spinner Angus Findlay-Wilson bagged two.
A spirited stand of 38 between Jack Hobbs and Ben Clark saw Bicester post 71-7 from their 20 overs.
Downs’s reply was helped by 22 extras.
Only Hobbs managed to hold them up with a tidy spell of 2-14 as Downs cruised home by six wickets.
Earlier, Downs edged out Great & Little Tew by five runs, while Bicester beat Abingdon Vale by nine wickets.
