Minor Counties Championship
OXFORDSHIRE’S excellent 163-run Western Division victory over Dorset saw two of the finest individual performances in the county’s history.
Jamie Perkin became only the third Oxon batsman to score two centuries in a match, while Chad Keegan returned the county’s fifth best bowling figures with 13-155.
Perkin joins Geoff Ford and Tim Lester in an exclusive double-ton club, while only David Laitt and Keith Arnold have surpassed ex-Middlesex seamer Keegan’s effort at Bournemouth.
Oxon captain Ian Hawtin said: “Jamie is in a great spell of form at the moment.
“In the first innings, he had to work quite hard, and in the second he struck the ball magnificently.
“I think he has improved his game massively over the past couple of years. He deserves all the accolades he gets.
“Chad has been superb for us all summer.
“It is not just on the field, it is the way he conducts himself off it and encourages the youngsters.
“He is a quality bowler and it is great to be able to turn to somebody like him when you need a wicket.
“He has been absolutely magnificent. His performances with the ball speak for themselves.”
