Banbury Central’s Caroline Campion was crowned Oxfordshire ladies singles champion with a 21-15 win over clubmate Mo Cox at South Oxford.

Campion also triumphed in the triples, teaming up with Carole Galletly and Stella Amos to beat clubmates Annie Gilkes, Pauline Wilson and Pam Shepherd.

Central also won the fours with Cox, Gill Hunt, Sue Waring and Ann Norton defeating Oxford City & County’s Margaret Stacey, Maggie Alderson, Carol Gaskins and Carol Penson 20-13.

Oxford City & County’s Katherine Hawes and Donna Grant retained their pairs title, but only just after being pushed all the way by clubmates Gaskins and Penson before triumphing 21-20.

Hawes also took the two-wood singles crown with a 16-9 win over Galletly.

West Witney’s Helen Skidmore and Karen Alder claimed the unbadged pairs title with a 23-20 victory over Witney Town’s Lyn Cooper and Mavis Hale.

Oxford City & County’s Katie Glenn defeated Watlington’s Emma Gilkes in the under 25 singles.

And Charlotte Jacob (Oxford City & County) and Helen Campion (Banbury Central) beat Gilkes and Claire Soden (Watlington) in the under 25 pairs.

OXFORDSHIRE Ladies bagged a brace of wins in their latest matches, pipping Kent 122-121 at Thame, and then defeating Surrey 122-112 at Henley.
