Jamie Perkin and Chad Keegan were the stars of the show as Oxfordshire recorded their first victory of the season with a 163-run triumph over Dorset at Dean Park, Bournemouth.

Perkin followed up his first-innings 122 with an unbeaten 107 as Oxfordshire set the Minor Counties champions a target of 288 to win.

And former Middlesex seamer Keegan made sure they never even got close as he ran through their second innings with a spell of 6-32 to give him match figures of 13-155.

Their first Western Division success this season came after two draws and a defeat.

Taking a 53-run lead into the final day, Oxon raced from 43-1 to 278-5 as Perkin cracked four sixes and 12 fours in his 129-ball ton, which was chancless and took 145 minutes.

Another youngster, Jonny Cater, batted well for the second time in the match, putting on 79 with Perkin on his way to 48, while Keegan and Perkin cracked 69 off 45 balls before the declaration.

Dorset never recovered from a disastrous start which saw them lose their first five wickets for 47 to Keegan and Daniel Rowe.

Youngster Masoor Khan followed up his first-innings top score of 67 with a fighting half-century before running out of partners.

And it was fitting that Keegan, who was awarded his county cap last week, should have the last word.

He proved far too hot for the Dorset tail, taking three wickets in four balls to finish with a flourish.

Rowe and debutant left-arm spinner Nat Watkins gave him good support with two wickets apiece as Oxon celebrated a famous victory.
